Danny liked being where he was. People walked in and out, had their converstations, and they ignored him. He smiled, and gently pulled open the old storybook he'd found in a muggle book store. He hadn't let anybody know that he had the book, so it couldn't be taken by his parents yet. He didn't know how they would react if they knew he read these books instead of the wizard books available. Danny smiled, half listening in on converstions, half reading his book. He hoped nobody would bother him.

(ooc: You never said where he was, so I'm taking some liberties with this.)
Annie walked quietly into the library, hoping to find some new reading material. She had already read all the books she'd brought with her to school this year. This always seemed to happen. She would try her hardest, but she could never seem to make her books last. Luckily, the library at Hogwarts was enormous. As she walked in, she saw one of her older cousins, Danny, reading on one of the big chairs bye the fire in the library. She wondered what he was reading. It didn't look like any book she had ever seen in this library. Slowly, she walked over to where he was sitting and sat down. "What you reading?" Annie asked him, leaning over to read the cover.

He glanced up at her and sighed. Of course Annie had to walk up. Danny had been happily in his element. He considered telling her the title, decided against it, and closed the book, setting it down so that Annie could not see the title. He fixed her with his I-did-not-want-you-to-come-and-talk stare. Danny did not appreciate being talked to. He was quiet, and he would listen, but he refused to actually answer anybody unless he wanted to.

Annie was NOT impressed with the look her cousin gave her. He gave her that look ALL the time. She knew very well by now how to deal with it. Annie fixed Danny with an intense look and began tapping her fingers against the table. "What's the deal, Danny?" Annie asked in her why-the-hell-are-you-acting-this-way voice. "You know better than to blow me off like that. Remember last time." At this, Annie took her wand out and set it in her lap, still looking at Danny with an intense look in her eye.

"I was reading a book. I did not want you to come and suddenly force me to talk just because you were bored," he snapped, grabbing his things and walking away. Danny hoped that Annie wouldn't follow. His perfect, quiet day in the library had just been ruined by her need to speak to him and get a response. Danny was quiet by nature, and did not like how Annie required a reply to everything.

Annie stood up instantly and ran after her cousin. She was not one to pester normally, but when it came to Danny, she had little patience. He was the only of her cousins who wasn't friendly and polite with her. "Danny," she shouted after him, catching up. "I just want to know what you're reading. Do you really have to be such a jerk all the time?" Annie still had her wand out and made certain Danny knew it while she half-walked, half-ran to keep up with her older cousin.

"When I want my quiet afternoon to be bothered, I'll ask you since you do it every time," he snapped. He frowned harshly and stalked away. Danny knew that Annie could cast a mean hex, but he could care less at that time. He just wanted to have a quiet afternoon. Instead he was getting drilled by the only cousin who would do things like that. Not to mention, he wasn't appreciating it at all.

(ooc: Fine. Note-He's not supposed to be "Mr. Talkative". -_-)
"Look, I'm sorry. I just wanted to be alone. I shouldn't have snapped at you or treated you rudely. I'm just getting sick of you popping up when I'm finally comfortable," Danny sighed, "I'm sorry. Annie, just don't think anything of it. I'm just getting a bit frustrated with that." He smiled, and pulled out his book, handing it to her so that she could look at it. What Danny had just said was more than he usually said to anyone, and he knew that Annie would know that.

(ooc: There's a huge difference between not talkative and mean and antisocial.)
Annie looked at the book Danny had given her. Danny wasn't a talker, and Annie knew it. Somehow, she always expected him to at least give her polite one-word answers. For some reason, he could hardly handle that. She looked up from the book. "This is a muggle book," she said. Only she made it sound like a question at the end so Danny would know she was expecting an answer.

He smiled and said, "It is." His tone was glad. Annie wasn't mad at him anymore, which was a plus. Anyway, Danny didn't mind. "You can read it after I'm done," he offered, grinning. His eyes danced, and he continued walking. He was slower, and more easy going.

Annie thought about it for a second. She might have to take him up on the offer. "What is it about?" she asked him, walking along beside him with a more relaxed gait. She finally stowed her wand in her pocket, turning the book around in her hands. The cover was bright and colorful. The title was written in curly, metallic writing. It looked almost like a science fiction novel, except for the curly writing.

"Hard to explain," he muttered, and tried to find a way to explain without giving it away, "Well, it's about a girl a medieval place, and she wants to be a knight, but she's not allowed. It's pretty cool. This is the first in the series." He smiled. So, Annie was now calm around him. Not to mention not trying to hex him every other second. Danny laughed slightly as the thought crossed his mind.

Annie brightened up as she walked. That book sounded completely fascinating. "That sounds awesome," she exclaimed, her voice echoing through the long hallway, all the way to the end. "Is there lots of action? I love books with action. What about magic. What is their stupid interpretation of magic? I'm sure they have one. This is going to be so much fun to read. I can't wait till you're done! How long to you think it's going to be until you finish?" Annie couldn't help but talk about a mile a minute. Books made her excited, and she was always so comfortable with her cousins that the words flowed faster than she could think of them, almost. Sometimes, she forgot to stop for air and ended up gasping for a breath once she finally sees oddly colored dots swimming in mid-air.

"It's a facinating interpretation, and there is action. I'm almost done, so you'll have it soon," he answered, grinning. It was funny when Annie got that excited about books. When he was younger, he would've shouted 'NERD', but that would be too rude. Instead, he just took some joy from the fact that she was so excited and happy.
