We all know that James and Severus were in love with Lily all throughout their days at Hogwarts. But what James didn't know was that his best mates had a thing for the red head also. Set in 6th year.[/b]
Why Lily? Lily Evans is pretty, popular, and incredibly intelligent. She knows what she wants and won't put up with immaturity. Although she is aware when guys are hitting on her, she can't recognize a true confession of love. She is so used to hearing lies that she can't accept another person's honesty.
Why James? James Potter knows Lily is the girl for him and refuses to believe otherwise. He's stubborn, and won't back down even after being denied hundreds of times. He is smitten, beyond any reason. She isn't like any of the other girls he knows.
Why Sirius? Sirius Black never liked Lily, until recently. Getting girls has always been easy for him, and the lack of interest the red head gives him spikes his own interest in her. At first, he sees her simply as a challenge, but steadily grows to like her for who she is.
Why Remus? Remus Lupin has liked Lily for a long time, ever since first year. However, he didn't tell the other Marauders about his feelings. By the time he was about to, James proclaimed his interest in Lily first, so, of course, Remus couldn't say anything. He tries to win her heart subtly.
Why Peter? Peter Pettigrew can't even get a girl to look at him. All these years, he has sat in the shadows of his friends, only being considered popular by default. The only girl who has ever given him the time of day was Lily, who always showed him kindness. He is willing to do anything to get the girl, even if it involves a little backstabbing and rule breaking. Before he can do that, however, he has to get his potion making skills up to par.
Why Severus? Severus Snape has liked Lily since he met her. Possibly even loved her. But their extreme differences, both in friends, family, and interests, have torn them apart. Severus hates James and Co. and hates even more that Lily has begun paying attention to James. Meanwhile, he is debating internally about who he'll align himself with: Dumbledore or Voldemort. Name (gender): Anna "Watts" Watson; Female House (year): Gryffindor; 6th year Appearance (optional pic): Anna has long, thick, wavy white blonde hair. She often keeps it in a messy ponytail so it doesn't get in her way. She has pale, soft skin and liquid green eyes. Anna wears a pair of glasses to help her nearsightedness. She is short, about 5"3, and very lean. Due to her working out so much and being a Chaser of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, she has a nice light abs and little body fat. Other: She has an annoying, and slighly evil cat called, Felix, he is a black cat who enjoys attacking Anna who hates it and anyone else that comes near it. The only reason she keeps it around is because if she 'lost' it, Jordan would tell their mother who gave it to Anna. Bio: Anna was born into a very proper and orderly family. Her mother and father both worked in the Ministry of Magic with successful careers. The Watson Family believed in being 'all that you can be' and 'keeping a good image'. Anna wanted nothing to do with that, in fact, all she wanted to do was play Quidditch. Her and her two cousins, Holly and Danny Green, would play at the Green household for hours upon hours at a time. They were all getting pretty good. Anna said that when she grew up, she was going to be a Quidditch Star. So Holly decided that was going to be in HER cards, not Anna's. She forced Anna to clean her broom, rake the pitch, polish the Snitch, and a number of terrible jobs. So, Anna started trying to make new friends. She always knew Peter but never got to really know him, so she marched over to his house, next door, and forced him to play with her. Peter introduced Anna to James and it was then she knew that girls were over rated and all she needed was guy friends instead. As the years went by, Anna took the name 'Watts' on her and the persona that went along with it. She didn't let anyone else walk over her, the way Holly did. She let her temper flare even when she wasn't mad. Most of the time she is never mad at anyone, she is a calm and gentle person but it shows weakness so she hid it with a hot head and tomboyish mannerisms. When she would visit her parents, they would cry and tell her that she was becoming a trouble child. For until the end of her 5th year they were begging her to change her friends and to be more like her cousin who just got accepted on the Holyhead Harpies Quidditch team, or her little sister, Jordan. They would push morals down the girls throat but she would only cough it back up. She didn't care if her parents hated her. By the end of their 5th year, Watts also began to really fancy Sirius Black, one of her best friends, and is hurt by the fact that he is pursuing her roommate and friend, Lily Evans. She is trying desperately to make him fail at winning over Lily's heart.

There are a few universally acknowledged things about James Potter. Things like his talent at Quidditch, his hate for cauliflower, his history of a prominent family, and his popularity within Hogwarts. What people did not comprehend, even if it was clearly evident, were the things that James rather not talk about. Like his inability to tell the truth from a lie when it came from a friend, his clear weakness of sight, or his slowly dying parents. However, overall, James was an alarmingly open person. There really wasn't much that James had to hide for himself. For others, though, James could barely keep track of the secrets that he had to cover up. But the one that he was always reminded of was also the biggest.
It was also the one he covered up the most frequently.
The date was April 15th, which James only knew because Lizzy Bennet had asked him after Quidditch practice with the top three buttons of her blouse undone, but it was as if the weather had forgotten where exactly it was. Perhaps it had gotten lost, or it was completing an exchange program, but either way the weather in Hogwarts was not the normal cold rain that was typical for that time of year. Instead, they seemed to be getting the weather from the beaches of France, which was fine with James, especially since he managed to evade detention for dropping water balloons on first years (screaming "April showers bring May flowers!").
It had become obvious that he had been drawing far too much attention to himself, though, and he had sworn he saw Snivellus slip around the corner to tattle on him. James had sprinted outside before anyone else could tie him to the scene, and had ended up by the Black Lake.
Now, it is fairly safe to say that these previous two paragraphs could have been eliminated at the message would still remain clear and would probably flow more. But in order to understand why James Potter rolled his trouser legs up, one must understand that the weather was magnificent, that the girl sitting across the Lake just happened to be Lizzy Bennet, and that he had amazingly toned calves if he did say so himself. One also had to understand that he had inadvertantly splattered water on the bottom of his trousers while dropping water balloons, and it was terribly irritating to have the sopping edges cling to his ankles.
It was possibly one of the dumbest decisions of his life thus far.
Not because of the third year boy who noticed the scar on his right calf. James was able to explain that easily- "Had a bit of a fight with a hippogiff when I was a kid. Don't worry, I won". The boy's friend looked skeptical, citing several ways that it fit more the description of a werewolf's claw than anything else.
However, the original questioner further elaborated to the now questioner that James Potter was not to be questioned, especially because the original questioner had already questioned as to the orgin of the question, and James had provided a satisfactory answer to the particular question, so there really hadn't been any real warrant, questionable or otherwise, for such a question. In fact, the brains of the now questioner was then being called into question.
Or something like that. Honestly, James had toned out after about three minutes. A questionable habit, but a true one nonetheless.
The real danger of rolling up his pant legs was when Peter Pettigrew arrived on the scene.
"Prongs! Hey, Prongs! Prongs!" Peter called, waving as he walked over.
James, who had been lounging peacefully in the sun until then, didn't crack open an eye. "I can hear you fine, Wormtail," James said, sighing. "Just get over here before Evans hears you."
Peter plopped down next to his friend, smiling. "You mean you don't want Evans to know your here?" He leaned over to one side as he spoke, not wanted to sink his right butt cheek further into the mud than it already had been. James scooted over, aware that it made them look gay.
"Er... not in particular," James confessed, taking off his glasses and playing with the sun rays to entertain himself.
"Why? Do you not fancy her anymore?" Peter asked snappishly.
James' eyes flickered towards Peter for a second, unable to make anything out but a large blonde shape. "Yeah, I still fancy her, mate. I just would rather keep out of her sight after this morning's breakfast incident."
Peter didn't respond, turning away from James. He noticed a group of girls looking at them from across the Lake. He waved feebly to them. They all giggled, but in a way that was obviously not in Peter's favor. He turned scarlet, bowing his head, wondering why he wasn't used to this treatment by now.
Maybe because Lily continued to give him a break from the routine of girls ignoring him, or, worse, laughing at him. Maybe because she listened to him, and didn't just brush him off. Maybe because, unlike even his best mates, she never pointed out his weight or his inability to match up to them.
James laughed loudly, the only real way he ever laughed. "Whoops, eh, mate? Don't worry, they're all clingy and dull. Or at least that's what Padfoot says. Seen him around? Or Moony, for that matter?"
Shaking his head, Peter stared at the spot where the sun reflected off the Lake. He put his head in his hand, wondering exactly what was the point. After all, if Lily Evans hadn't accepted James, who was probably the most inspirational person in his life, then why would he, overweight, awkward Peter Pettigrew ever stand a chance with her? James seemed to have everything, but he still wasn't anywhere with the bird, despite his protests. He had money, status, brains, athletic talent, and as Peter surveyed his friend, he noticed that James had that undeniable charismatic way of carrying himself, even when he was being stupid and reflecting sun rays through his glasses for fun. He wasn't anything like Peter. Peter didn't have this money or status or charisma or-
"James."
"What, Wormtail?" James asked, alarmed by Peter's use of his first name.
"You shave your legs?!"
{ooc} Okay, that's your punishment for making me start first. Those first couple paragraphs, anyway. Yeah, I was in a funky mood, so from here on out my posts won't be like that, promise, I was just having too much fun to stop. Have fun reading this!

{ooc} (Note to self: color is 0198E1)
That's it. I'm breaking the rules, and I'm getting online. I already wrote a little of my essay... before I fell asleep at the computer. So I figured it's break time.
Oh, and, I'm gonna try taking a slightly different, more dangerous path with Sirius. It may shock you at first, but only when you realize that a Mormon girl (gleefully) wrote it. Lol. (Moony, I blame you, and our convo this morning. bwhaha)
{bic} Sirius Tiberius Orion Black was addicted to sex. That much was obvious. And even if he weren't, he'd still be considered "sex on legs" to most of the female population attending Hogwarts. The lewd word followed him as if it were a "Kick me!" sign taped to his back. Posters of scantily clad and suggestively positioned Holyhead Harpies decorated the walls next to his four-poster bed, issue after issue of Wicked Witches could be found hidden beneath his pillow, and in his locked drawer were many a colored bra, each one a trophy and lascivious memory of his deeds.
Back to the "sex on legs" part. As if the previously described perversions weren't already enough, Sirius was also cursed blessed with extraordinarily handsome features and a charismatic personality which resulted in many cult-like fan clubs dedicated in his name. The sworn members of said clubs threw themselves at his feet, begging for recognition and often offering to be his call girls, which he occasionally took them up on if he was having a hard night. In a single, simmering glance, Sirius held the power to allure (or at least disorient) many girls at once.
Not all girls, however.
One Lily Evans seemed to be immune to all his intoxicating tricks. Any time he sent her "the look", struffed past her, or made use of his wit deliberately around her (all of which he only did as joke, as James would murder him otherwise), the redhead would return with only a look of disgust or haughty indifference.
Another, Anna Watson, had a yet to be discovered reaction. Sirius had never intentionally flirted with her. Although she was very attractive, he thought of her too much as a brother. She was, after all, practically a Marauder herself. Seducing her may just be too strange for him to handle.
They were two of the very few that he did not have on his "To Do" list. Them, and his cousins, obviously.
Walking out through the large oak doors of the school and into the sun, Sirius pulled that same, unhallowed list from his pocket and smugly crossed off the name Greta Catchlove. Next to it, he wrote: Cute, but inexperienced. Appetite is too big and breath smells of cheese. Will most likely become clingy and desperate. Possibility for Wormtail/
He placed the paper back in his pocket and scanned the grounds, spotting James and Peter sitting together by the Black Lake (and looking very gay doing so). Sirius strode in their direction, winked at some passing fourth year Ravenclaw girls, and just came within hearing distance to catch Pete gasp, "You shave your legs?!"
His grey eyes immediately darted to James's elongated and bare limbs. They were indeed hair free, which caused Sirius to raise an eyebrow and laugh. "Prongs," he said heartily, coming to a stop just behind them, "did you sleepwalk while dreaming about being a woman again?"
{ooc} Ahahaha, 'hard night'. ...Lame innuendo pun, I know. But I couldn't resist.
Day, those first couple paragraphs were revenge for your own (which I really didn't mind reading, so I don't know what you were talking about, but here's revenge anyway).
Man, I feel like I need to take a shower now.

ooc: Wow, I feel stupid for not getting the joke, Padfoot. Good thing you explained it or I would have thought he just had a difficult night. Gah! I can't believe it! Now I shall get revenge ont you two!
Bic:One of the most annoying things in the world, or at least in Remus Lupin's point of view, was the sound of Professor McGonagall 'angry' voice. She often used it around Remus when she was scolding his best mates, or when she was teaching, or just talking in general. In fact, there was rarely a time that she did not use the 'angry' voice. So when Remus Lupin heard the voice of said Professor, he sighed, slightly defeated and turned on his heel.
" Yes, madam?" the boy started, knowing fully well that the greeting always navigated the conversation. Seem nice and well mannered and you will be treated as such. Remus was a master at navigating and manipulating conversations at a whim. He never knew where he learned it, but he was sure glad that he did or else he would have to be listening to the teacher that was chastising him. Sure, he nodded in the right areas, and gave firm excuses. He even told her that he had no idea where his friends were during the water balloon fiasco. She, of course, believed every word of it. Well, enough to say that he had nothing to do with said prank. Sometimes he felt terrible for lying to his teacher, but he could never handle the burden of being, for a lack of a better term, a rat.
When she had let him go, he nodded and thanked her for her time, though Remus knew that it was a total waste of both of their precious time. But, one had to be civil and a suck up to get anywhere in this school in terms of the teachers. He rounded the corridor, looking for any sign of his friends when he felt something run into him, he fell backwards but was able to catch himself on the wall before he landed on the ground, the other in the collision was not so lucky.
" Are you okay? Really, I am very sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." He said as he scurried to retrieve the scattered books. When he looked to see whom it was exactly that he ran into, his heart turned into a knot. He knew that his way with words had their limits and if he wanted to keep his 'not a rat' status, he had to make a swift beeline to the door.
" No, it is perfectly fine, but watch where you are going Remmy." Lily said as Remus handed her a stack of textbooks. She failed to mention the fact that she, herself, was not paying much attention to her surroundings either.
Remus hated the name 'Remmy'. Always did and always would, but when Lily would call him the irritating pet name, he found it to be the sweetest thing in the world. The cute red head always had that sort of effect on Remus, though he would never admit that to anyone. He knew that James had called her first. But he still couldn't help grinning when he saw her face.
" McGonagall is looking for you and the rest of the Marauders, she says you are all in major trouble. Really Remus, why do you follow those boys around? They are not a good influence." It seemed that whenever she lectured, Lily would raise her chin and look directly into ones eyes. It used to effect Remus so much but he luckily got used to it. He smiled at her but tried to avoid the latter part of her comment.
" Yes, I already spoke with her. Look, Lily, I've got to go now." He said trying to ease himself away from her steadfast gaze knowing fully well how much effect that it would be. Why did it have to be her? Why did it bloody always have to be her that stopped him after a prank.
You see, there was one deep flaw in the talent that Remus possessed. Perhaps it was divine intervention or something of the sort, but whatever it was, Remus didn't like it. Now, he was able to talk his way out of anything when a Teacher, or someone in power talked to him, but girls were a whole different breed. Sure, he had loads of female friends but none that struck his fancy. When they did, Remus was at a loss for words.
"No, hold on Remmy, don't go." The words that he really dreaded flowed from her lips. "Tell me where the Marauders are, I need to speak with them about matters regarding water balloons."
"Water Balloons?"
"Yes, Water Balloons."
He felt his temperature rise quickly and his eyes began to scratch. To be a rat, or run away like one? There were ups and downs to both situations. The first options ups were very obvious: Get into Lily's favor. Sure, it was known through Hogwarts that the red head was friends with Remus but perhaps she will like him even more if he took her to the Marauders. But, the second, even in sentence structure, seemed like a better idea. He wouldn't fully be a traitorous rodent, he would only flee like one. Plus, he didn't even know where they were so he didn't feel so bad when he said, " Lily, really, I don't know where they are. I was just on my way to go see Anna because we had plans to finish our History of Magic Essays. We haven't spent much time together lately so....bye!" The last part of this was said walking away from her.
When he walked outside he looked around for his friends, he knew very well that on such a day they wouldn't be shuffling inside the dusty castle. He spotted them by the Black Lake and wondered why he didn't think of that sooner.
By the time he reached them, he had already taken off his robe, the heat was uncomfortable to him. He was in the process of rolling up his sleeves when he greeted them. " Hey guys, just a warning, Evans is on the hunt down for you guys and if she asks what I did today, - was writing my History of Magic essay with Watts. I already eased some of Minnie's suspicions too." He felt a ray of pride wash over himself but he also still felt terrible for lying to Lily but that thought was cut short by a very trivial matter.
" What's wrong with your legs?"

James didn't know quite how to react. After Peter's comment, he self-conciously looked up and inspected his legs, as if he needed to be reminded if they were hairless or not. Aware that time was credibility, he frantically searched his head for an excuse. It honestly didn't take long for him to decide on one, but the arrival of Sirius and Remus unstabilized it. It would work on Peter, but Sirius, especially, would be able to tell he was lying, and then draw the worst conclusions from that.
"Mate," Peter began gently, as though persuading a small child to give up their cookie, "isn't that sort of.... gay?"
"No!" James protested. "I just thought that, you know, I'd give it a shot. For Quidditch."
"Quidditch?" Peter asked, already noticably chuckling.
"Yeah, Quidditch," James replied forcefully. Peter stopped laughing. "Troy swore to me that it worked, and did you know Dai Llewellyn did it? I looked it up, and-"
"Didn't that bloke get eaten by a chimera?" Peter asked conversationally.
"Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a fantastic Quidditch player," James responded, lying back down. "Anyways, it's a fluke. I didn't fly any better at practice today. It's not like it's going to be a habit."
Peter actually liked Sirius' version of events better but decided to keep his mouth shut. As far as he was concerned, James has shut down the subject as soon as he had rested his head on the grass again. He turned his attention to Remus.
"Why is Evans on the hunt for us?" Peter asked. "Prongs is the only one that did it, after all... Oh, but she doesn't know that, does she?! We'll have to let her know, you know, when she finds us."
For some reason, this made James chuckle. "Why? Are you afraid of her?" he taunted. Honestly, James was a bit tentative of her as well, but he wasn't about to tell the Marauders that. When Peter didn't answer, James sat up again, this time with an air of finality.
"Seriously? It's not as if she'd hex you, mate. That'd be 'against school rules'. The worst she can do is give you detention," James reasoned.
"Well, yeah, but... she's intimidating!"
James opened his mouth to retaliate, but then shrugged his shoulders in concession. "Yeah, I guess you're right. But if you just think about it-"
"Like anybody's thinking when they're around her," Peter mumbled.
"What does that mean?" Raising an eyebrow, he surveyed Peter with a slightly suspicious look.
Peter panicked, letting out a light laugh. "Just taking the mickey out of you..." James seemed to buy it, because he laughed, only making Peter feel worse. Was the concept really so comical?
"Anyway, I doubt Lil-Evans will find us today. Thanks to Moony, she's not likely to come out here, right?" He dug his hand deep into his pocket in search of a Snitch, but couldn't find one. Maybe it was for the best. Lily really didn't like it, after all. There was a time when James would've asked himself why'd he care, but he'd long-ago admitted to himself that he actually fancied the girl now, that it wasn't just a challenge. He'd tried to keep as flippant an attitude as possible during this conversation, but he knew that he wasn't fooling anyone. It was more of the effort to save face that counted. It meant that he wasn't too far gone yet, that Sirius really had no justification for singing "Seering Love" everytime he glanced at Lily from the corner of his eye.
"So, someone told me that you got Greta Catchlove, Padfoot," Peter said. "How was-?"
"The shaving thing- is it really that gay?" James interrupted. "I mean, even for the day?" Masculinity was never really something James was worried about in his sixth year, but this made him remember the world from a younger, and much shorter perspective.

Remus scratched his head, trying to focus on not laughing at his friends absurd question. He knew the answer in the back of his mind and he loved the fact that it was so obvious. Sirius, James and even Peter always gave Remus grief for being a 'transsexual from the Gods' because he read Romance novels and understood, or so they thought, the female mind and heart. But, the boy had never once thought about removing the hair from his legs. Weren't guys always trying their hardest to grow hair? It just baffled Remus that James had taken a shaver and ran in up his legs until every hair was gone. It could be his time, at long last, to get back at James, who never ceased to find ways to jab at his masculinity. Oh how sweet revenge would taste!
"No, mate, it isn't gay. Don't worry about it."
There was something about Remus that one must understand to even grasp the concept of his logic. He loved his friends. Remus would do or say anything to make his friends feel good or better about themselves, he would even lie about to them. So, even though James gave him the perfect opportunity to mock him, he passed it by. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.
Many thoughts crossed the mind of red headed girl as she climbed the steps of the Grand Staircase. It had been a trying day for the girl as a Gryffindor prefect. The poor girl as at her wits end thanks the prank that the Potter boy preformed, trying to settle down the first years, and rounding up the tiresome poltergeist known as 'Peeves' to stop him from harassing the second years. She needed to get her mind off of things and quick or else risk loosing her cool completely.
Lily Evans knew that she had a bad temper, though she would never admit it anyone, and she often had keep herself in check. It was not at all uncommon for the girl to fly into a frenzy over the most simple joke. But the wrath of this red head was selective. She would never dare screech or tear down just any body. No, you had to be very special to receive a verbal attack from Lily Evans. The people who received this gift the most were known as 'The Marauders'. From her first year, Lily had not been able to stand Sirius Black and James Potter. It had not taken long for those two boys to get under her terribly tough skin and Pettigrew did not take too much longer. But recently the girl had done her best to be nice and civil towards them. So she did her best now to forget about the prank and move on.
Just opening the door to the Library made her feel more at peace with herself. The smell of dusty books and melted candles calmed her down and gave her reason to be the real Lily Evans without anyone to see or judge her. For though Lily was a very hot headed person, she also was so very kind and gentle, she was just afraid to let her guard down in front of anyone.
She paced along the aisles of the Library, looking up at the endlessly tall bookshelves, lacing her index figure on the spines of the books. She would never be able to read them all, she made the mistake of thinking so when she first arrived at Hogwarts. Her first few years were spend in the dusty, dim room with her friend Severus Snape. Sometimes they didn't even need to speak to each other but she knew that she would be lonely without him there. The fact was that the friendship that she cared about so dearly was gone now, and she suppressed his ever lingering memory in the back of her mind as she grabbed a book from off the shelve. As she looked for a good place to sit, she let her eyes wander. She saw the normal faces, the same people she always saw in the Library. A large number of Ravenclaws, some Slytherins, and a few Hufflepuffs. As she expected, there were not very many Gryffindor students found in the Library, especially not on such a marvelous day. But there was one other that bore the distinct colors of red and gold. Anna Watson. Alone.
She walked over to the table that the small blonde girl was stationed at and sat down, noticing that she had all the supplies scattered about the table. She was obviously alone.
"Hello, Anna, what are you up to?" the words were whispered carefully, barely audible. She was one of the few people left that respected Madam Pince's rule of being quiet.
"I am building an indoor swimming pool for Hogwarts. Two more bricks and I'm done. What does it look like I am doing?"
Lily looked down at the Parchment in front of Anna and saw 'Goblins Deserve Freedom: A Look Through History.' She grimaced and looked back up. Anna was Lily's most sarcastic, rude and annoying friend but for some reason they got along great. It was an unsolved mystery and both girls likes it the way that it was.
"Oh, have you seen Remus?"
"Not anytime lately, I've been up here working. Oh, if you see him, tell him I have something to give him."
Lily sighed. She couldn't believe that he had lied to her. He was someone that she could trust so easily. But, she had to remind herself that he was a boy and even worse: A Marauder. Too bad Lily didn't listen to that part of her logic. She got up, leaving her book with Anna, "Will do, um, I have to go now."
And with that, she stomped towards the door of the Library.
