Alice looked at the girl surprised. Now that she looked, the girl did look like she could be related to Edward. This was weird. "The name's Alice," Alice said, a little hesitant still. At the moment, the wind picked up, blowing through the parking lot. Alice could smell vampires nearby, and knew why Jasper was so fidgety. Alice and Jasper were certain Edward and the other girl, Edward's sister, could smell them too. They smelled like vampires that preyed on humans rather than animals like they did. That idea made Alice shudder in disgust.

"Shiloh, Alice, and Edward," Dherik commented, committing the names to memory. "We haven't heard of Shiloh...." "That must be Jasper," Vincent reasoned, nodding at the male beside Alice. Gabreille nodded. "I don't think that they're going to iniciate anything, Dherik," she said. "I think they'd rather avoid us." "If I was them, I wouldn't want to get in my way either," Dherik replied, keeping the apathetic look on his face. "The human isn't here yet. We'll wait for her-" "We don't even know if she'll be here," Gabrielle said haughtily. "Or how long it'll take," Vincent reminded him. "Fine," Dherik agreed, losing patience. "Then let's go." The trio walked calmly across the parking lot. They reached them just as Alice spoke her name. "And mine is Dherik," he stated confidently, holding out a hand, completely aware that he was interrupting a reunion.

Alice glared as one of the vampires came up and interrupted her conversation. Alice liked manners, and obviously, this guy didn't have any. "Hello, Dherik," Alice said, trying to be polite, "I'm Alice." She tried to smile kindly at the boy, but failed in spite of herself. It was hard to smile when she looked into those crimson eyes that sent a shiver down her spine. Jasper sensed her unease, and his own as he, too, looked at the vampire's eyes. They were not the gold color of their family's, but the crimson of vampires who preyed on humans.

Edward stared as his two sisters spoke. Shiloh was speaking calmly as ever, as if suddenly reappearing after nearly a century was an every day thing. Seeing her, it was apparent that Shiloh was at least a physical year older than him now. His little sister didn't look like his little sister any longer.
Edward opened his mouth to ask how she was turned when one of the cyclist vampires appeared. He watched as Alice greeted him with a smile on her face, but Edward, keeping tabs on everyone's thoughts, could tell she and Jasper were uneasy. He himself was also extremely apprehensive, and maybe a bit paranoid. But he had a right to be. Especially since all he could hear in the vampire's and his friend's heads were complete nonsense.
This Dherik could speak English, that much was obvious. But his thoughts were completely ununderstandable. It was almost as if...
Edward's eyes suddenly narrowed. They knew. They knew he had the power to read minds. And they were blocking him out! D*MMIT! But how did they know? Dherik and company must have some connection with either Victoria or the Volturi. Or they'd been watching him for a long, long time. Whatever the case, it couldn't be good news. Only someone with something to hide would put up defenses like that.
Edward was pokerfaced as he surveyed the crimson eyed group. Where is Carlisle when you need him? This was another time when Edward wished that, instead of just reading thoughts, he could put his own thoughts in the minds of others. It would be too suspisous if he tried to call his "father," but what else could he do?

Bella stumbled down the stairs of her small home, yawning. Edward's probably getting impatient, I'd better hurry. she thought to herself as she grabbed a bagel off the counter and stuffed it into her mouth. She reached for her backpack but found it was open. She frowned through the bagel. That wasn't open last night. she glanced inside and saw a folded piece of paper. She took it out and read it. She glowered at it. NOT go to school? Who does he think I am? He knows darn well I'm not going to take an explanation like that. What's going on?! Bella zipped up her backpack quickly and ran out the door to her truck, hopping in and bringing the beast to life. We'll see what's happening, he can't seriously expect me to just sit at home and wonder what's going on that he "needs to take care of". She pulled out of the gravel driveway and headed off down the street towards Forks High School as fast as her rattling engine would allow.

Alice looked icily at the new vampires that had just joined them. There was no reason at all for that many vampires to be in Forks, much less when they had those crimson eyes. She shuddered a little, but perhaps that was a bad idea, since her shudder sent her whirling into darkness.
Bella was driving to school. The weather was eerily similar to today's, but there was no garuntee. Her truck roared as she drove. Odd, she was driving her truck. Edward usually picked her up. She pulled into the parking lot of Forks High School and saw the whole group: Alice, Jasper, Edward, Shiloh, and the strange vampires. Bella drove her truck right up the them, parked it and turned off the engine. The silence was stiffling as Bella got out of the truck, the strange vampires eyeing her malicously. Then, one of them attacked.
Alice came out of it a moment later, trying to act like nothing had happened, but she knew that Jasper could sense her sudden terror and even now, Edward would be seeing the vision over in her mind. Jasper put his hand subtly on Alice's back, trying to comfort her. It was obvious that she had had a vision, and that no one was going to like it. He knew it was best to make it seem as though nothing had happened, so he calmed Alice with a touch and then tried to do the same for Edward, hoping not to get caught. Jasper could tell that whatever had freaked Alice out would do the same for Edward as soon as he saw it in Alice's thoughts.

Shiloh looked at this vampire in his crimson eyes and frowned to herself. The moment that she had finally gotten to meet with her brother after many years and this happened. It was bad news no matter how you looked at it. Forks was not a large town…and the population was filling with quickly filling up with Vampires! She walked forward to “Dherik” and simply said: “Leave,” She was rather annoyed with him and his rudeness and wished him to leave at that very moment. She did not think he would but knew that she had to try. Shiloh did, however, sense something about the other Vampires past…a past that was not at all like Edwards family. A past of carnage and terror towards humans.

Edward stiffened and froze after Alice's vision passed through his mind. But before he had a chance to be overcome by hysteria, Jasper touched him and Edward felt a sudden flow of placidity. Although still highly distraught, he was able to keep a cool head and think clearly.
So, his suspisions about the stranger-vampires were correct. Or mostly. They weren't here to make friends; that much was obvious. How long would it be until Bella arrived? It could be five, ten minutes....It could be now...
Edward face suddenly turned into an apparent expression of realization as he spoke. "Oh! I've forgotten something at the house," he feigned. With a small smile, he gave an apologetic look to everyone. "Excuse me.."
Please let Alice's vision change, Edward thought, as he nonchalantly climbed back into the Volvo. He turned on the ignition and pulled out of the parking lot, glancing into the rear-view-mirror to check if anyone was following him.
As he drove down the road, the speedometer raising the farther he was from the school, Edward looked ahead and watched for the moment Bella's truck came into view. He'd have to hurry, knowing it'd only be too soon when the cyclist vampires persued.
He heard the old red truck before he saw it. It was so loud. With a swift turn of the wheel, Edward pressed the breaks and came to an idle halt perpendicular to the road, blocking Bella's path. He reached across the passenger seat and threw open the door, hoping Bella will get the message.

The old truck roared down the road. Bella grumbled as it groaned along. She was going to be late, she knew it. Edward was so much faster, and she had expected him to pick her up. As she came around the bend she saw a shiny silver Volvo sitting in the road, blocking her path. She frowned, pushing down the urge to ram his fancy car. Curiosity about what was happenening overcame the urge to smash his vehicle. The passenger door was open, a message for her to get in. She bit her lip and slowed the truck down, pulling it over to the side of the road. She hated to leave it there, but she knew there wasn't much chance of anyone stealing it. Thoughts raced through her head as she jumped out of the car and scurried to the silver volvo, she knew something bad was happening, there was no other explanation for this behavior of Edwards. "What's going on?" She asked as soon as she slammed the door.

Dherik lowered his hand abrubtly. "Leave? My, you aren't very kind to strangers in your town, are you? I suppose we'll just have to return the favor." He smirked, his eyes glinting. As Edward backed away, Dherik suppressed the urge to laugh. Forget something? Vampires didn't forget to bring things.... Everything was carefully planned, especially for the Cullens. If they were to avoid detection, they had to be prepared. Yet all three of them let Edward depart. "On second thought, I'll take your suggestion. Vincent, come with me. Gabriella, stay here. Elizabeth will send for you." He was perfectly aware that the others could hear him, but it didn't matter. Vincent and Dherik made their way back to the motorcycles, whispering in code frantically. Gabriella looked rather put-out on being left behind, but neither Vincent nor Dherik looked back. Soon, Vincent and Dherik were riding the motorcycles out of Forks High School, and on pursuit.

Alice and Jasper stood in the huddle for what seemed like an awkward eternity. How could they get away from Shiloh and Gabriella? Somehow, they didn't think it was possible, but they had to warn someone. Then, Alice had an idea. "I think I'd better get to class now," she said sweetly, her voice singsonging a little. "You coming Jasper?"
Jasper smiled at her, sensing her hard thought and contemplation. "Certainly. I wouldn't miss Calculus for the world." With that, they left, hoping neither girl would follow. They rounded the school, then ran, but not away, just out of earshot of the other vampires.
"We can't let them know we're gone," Alice said, worried. "But Edward is going to need help. We need to find Rosalie and Emmett and give them the heads-up. Then, they can get Esme and help Edward protect Bella while we stay here and pretend like nothing's wrong." With that, Alice and Jasper returned to the school, and began searching frantically for Rosalie and Emmett, hoping to find them in any of the various places they usually hung out before remembering that they usually hung out with the rest of the family.

(ooc: Short post alert!
High-speed chase! WOOT!)
"We're leaving," Edward said stiffly, quickly leaning over to buckle Bella in. He slid the car into reverse to straighten out, then switched back to drive and slammed on the accelerator. It was times like these he wished he would have driven Alice's porsche to school instead. It was so much faster. Already, he could hear the low murmur of motocycles far behind. But they wouldn't be behind for long. That was the problem.

(ooc: Sowy guys!!! I'm here! XP )
Bella held on to her seat as an instinct as Edward slammed the gas pedal. She reached carefully behind her and pulled on her seatbelt. She trusted Edward with her life, but having that seatbelt on made he feel a little extra safe, especially since Edward seemed to be troubled. "But why do w-" The sound of acceleratingly motorcycles in the distance cut her off. She glanced in the side mirror and was just able to catch a glimpse of some very perfect looking individuals on motorcycles not far behind them. She bit her lip, she had a pretty good guess of what they where. Bella cursed herself for being such a bad luck magnet. "Edward, where are we going?" She asked, trying not to distract him as he expertly drove faster then any normal human being would drive on roads like the ones in Forks.

Rosalie mentally cursed herself, she was never this late for school. Goodness gracious, I'm worse then Edward today, and I don't even have a pathetic human to drive. She pulled into the parking lot swiftly and jumped out of the car with delicate ease, making a passing by student gape. She hit the lock button on her keys and walked swiftly towards the school building, wishing she could run...but that would cause too much of a commotion. She glanced around warily, usually Alice and Jasper would have intercepted her by now and hounded her about her lateness...

Dherik turned a corner at a seemingly impossible speed, Vincent right behind him. It was funny how the Cullens didn't wait to talk to them... Elizabeth had said that they were peaceful vampires, and would most likely just try and persuade them to leave. The factors didn't mix.... Something must have happened that had drastically changed Edward's mind. Dherik gave the motorcycle more gas, almost flying down the road. He suddenly caught a scent of something floral, and knew instantly that it had to be the human, Isabella Swan. Vincent suddenly grinned, and Dherik knew that Vincent's mind was on the blood of the girl, not their task. Luckily, Dherik rarely lost control. It was also a rare occurance for Dherik to be chasing someone long. Because they usually stopped. Dherik projected the image of Edward's worst fear about three hundred feet in front of their car.
