Katherine had to work hard to keep down a blush. She was actually quite tempted to skip class with her new friend. But the idea of having to explain it to Elizabeth and Lucille later, not to mention the possibility of her family finding out. Why couldn't things just be simple like they were when she was five, and she could either play with her doll or her brother? "I really do want to, but I can't. Not if I don't want to have to explain to my dear cousins that I was with you and risk being disowned." Katherine made a face. "I don't know, either way, I have to go clean up. I hate having mascara on my face. I may be back, I may not."
With a small smile, Katherine walked into a hallway, looked both ways, and broke into a full run for the bathroom she knew was on this floor. She wouldn't bother with re-doing her make-up. She just had to wash up the mascara smears. Her head buzzed with the conversation she had just had as she pushed open the door to the bathroom only to see Lucille Weasley standing at the sink, washing her hands. It was all too perfect. Katherine bolted into a stall and began to make sickly noises to ensure her cousin thought she was well sick. She didn't come out until she heard Lucille leave the girl's restroom, no doubt to go to DADA.

Jeremy sighed and sat back down to wait and see if Katherine would return. He hated skipping class, but to keep up appearances it was a must every now and then. Later, he would tell his pals he'd intercepted a lovely Slytherin girl and had a nice "chat" with her in an abandoned classroom. This was his usual lie, when really he was reading "Hogwarts A History" or something of the like. The girls of Slytherin always played along too, making his lie all too perfect, they loved being able to say they snogged Jeremy Malfoy instead of going to class. He picked up his book and started attempting a spell to remove some of the ink and make the letters visible again. It didn't seem to work very well, as his thoughts were too distracted with wonderings if Katherine was going to return and spend the rest of the class period in the room with him. He smirked, amused that this time his lie would actually be partially true. He might be with a girl all during class, he just wouldn't be doing what they THOUGHT he was doing with her. Studying instead of snogging.

Katherine waited in the bathroom until the bell rang, signaling the begining of class. That was, she was certain she wouldn't run into Lucille or Elizabeth, or any of her other cousins, for that matter. Then, she sneaked out from her haven. She knew Lucille would tell the stuffy old DADA professor how sick she was. That's what Weasleys did for the most part, watch out for each other, despite how badly they got along. She skipped merrily back to the not-quite-abandoned classroom. She entered relatively quietly, hoping not to startle the boy she knew was waiting inside.

(ooc: lol this thread amuses me so much. It's fun playing a boy. XD )
The door opened suddenly and Jeremy looked hopefully up at the entrance. He hoped she'd come back, he enjoyed talking to her, especially since he'd hoped to talk to her for so long before now. Katherine appeared behind the aged wooden door and he smiled slightly, glad she came back. "How'd you manage to get away?" He asked, curious as to how she was getting away with skipping class. Unlike himself, it would take a lot more planning then he used.

Katherine shut the door quietly behind her, smiling slyly. "Well," she began, sitting in the spot she had vacated just minutes ago. "As I walked into the bathroom, I saw my darling cousin, Lucille. She was doing who knows what in the bathroom, and I didn't want her to see me with all my smeared-mascara glory, so I ran into a bathroom stall. Then I realized I had a perfect opportunity. I started making sickly noises. I used a little spell or two to make it more believable. I'm pretty sure she's told the whole class by now that I'm really too sick to be in class, and I get to spend time I would be spending in a torture chamber, speaking with a rather interesting boy who's really not what he seems to be at all." Katherine smiled, feeling very self-assured after the stunt she had just pulled to get out of DADA.

Elizabeth Potter sat motionless in the DADA room next to her best friend's currently vacant seat. After a while of staring at the high ceiling, considering if any wrackspurts were floating around, students began to trickle into the classroom. Automatically, Elizabeth began wondering where Katherine was. Her friend usually always came a bit early so they could talk a while before class started, but the girl hadn't made an appearance.
Elizabeth stood and was about to go off to look for Katherine when Lucille waltzed into the room. They made eye contact, and Lizzy narrowed her eyes at the other girl. There had been some bitterness between them ever since Lucille and Teddy got together. This, of course, was because Elizabeth was completely empathetic with Katherine.
Without saying a word, Lucille took her seat in front Elizabeth's. She placed her bag on the desk and began ruffling through it, pulling out her books and pretending not to notice Lizzy's eyes boaring into her back. But after a while, it became too much.
"She's sick. I saw her in the bathroom," was all Lucille had to say.
Elizabeth sat back down in her chair with a sigh. Class wouldn't be any fun without Katherine there. And she felt bad that her friend was sick while Elizabeth was stuck in DADA. ...No, Lizzy felt bad for herself, that she wasn't sick with her Katherine. Proffessor Creevy (ooc: xDD) was by far not her favorite teacher in the world, and Elizabeth would much rather be spending time with her friend.
As the bell rang, Elizabeth placed her glasses on the bridge of her nose and pulled out an extremely old piece of parchment. Muttering under her breath, she said "I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good". Instantly, ink lines spread across the page, forming into her grandfather's Marauder's Map. Elizabeth smiled. Her father had given it to her as a gift over three years ago, before she boarded the Hogwarts Express as a first year. All he had told her about it was "Don't tell you mother." Elizabeth, completely confused about the parchment for a full two years, had finally discovered the Marauder's Map's secret during her third year. She and Katherine had had great fun using it.
Now, Elizabeth used it to find her friend. She located Katherine's footprints making their way down an empty corridor, away from the girl's lavitory and towards the door to a classroom. Elizabeth blinked in confusion. Shouldn't Katherine be heading to the Hospital Wing, if she's sick? ..Maybe a wrackspurt flew in her ear or something. The girl's footprints stopped at the door, then went inside. Elizabeth noticed another set of footprints inside the classroom. The name beneath this set made her eyes grow wide.
Jeremy Malfoy??
(ooc: ...Wow. That was like, the LONGEST intro I've ever written. ...Haha, and in a way, I ended it with a cliff hanger. xP I'll write more, leading Elizabeth to sneak out of class and find out what's happening, a bit later when you two get a couple more posts up. ^^)

(ooc: omg kara, that post just made my day! oooo the drama! muahahaha!!! as soon as she pulled out that map, i got excited. hehe)
Jeremy listened to Katherine's ingeinous plan to get out of her DADA class. He smirked a couple times during the story. Goodness, I think my delinquent-ness is rubbing off on her. He thought to himself, slightly worried about her skipping class. He kept the thought to himself and tried not to worry about it. Jeremy smiled, then frowned in an obviously fake manner. "You're not REALLY sick are you? You know, cause that might make our meeting a little...messy." He let out a laugh as he failed keeping up the fake smile. A serious thought occurred to him though. "Are you sure no one's going to be suspicious?" He patted the stone floor next to him for her to sit down as he waited for her to answer and pulled his school bag towards him to get his DADA book and notes.

Katherine laughed light-heartedly. "Not a chance. Unless Elizabeth figured out that map yet, which I doubt. I'm not sure it's really a map at all, sometimes." Katherine turned to look at the boy pulling out notes and a book, and made a face. "I already know this lecture backward and front. It's the same one my father made sure we knew as soon as we could walk and talk. The most important part in defending yourself from dark magic is the disarming spell. It's not that powerful, but neither is your opponant without a wand." Katherine mimicked her father's voice, rolling her eyes in boredom. "So, what shall we do with our two hours of spare time?"

Jeremy stopped pulling his books out and blinked. She already knew the lesson? His stomach sank, unsure of himself of how to spend the remaining time with Katherine. "Well," he cleared his throat uneasily. "I'm not quite sure really...I thought you needed tutoring, but if you already know the lesson by heart, there's no reason to go over it." He looked down towards his feet. "I'm not really sure what we could do...I don't usually spend a lot of time with girls like this without you know...snogging or something." He laughed quickly. "What DO a Slytherin boy and a Ravenclaw girl do for fun while skipping class together?"

Katherine's mood sank a little. She could not have answered that question any better than he had. "Ummm...." She said, an awkward note in her voice. "I suppose about the same thing a Malfoy and a Longbottom do while skipping class together?" At the end, she made her statement sound more like a question. She supposed the whole statement could have been a question. Inwardly, she cursed herself for putting the pair of them in such an awkward situation. It was truely foolish of her.

(ooc: Kara this would be a good time for you to "pop in" lol)
Jeremy scratched his head and sighed. "I don't really know. I'm not the best at...normal social interaction..." He laughed nervously. "This sounds really silly but have you ever played the muggle game of tic-tac-toe? All we'd need is some parchment and some ink...it's a somewhat amusing way to pass the time away till we can think of something better to do..."
(ooc: seriously kara...I'm running out of ideas...>.> as you can tell.)

"Alright students, we'll be working on the disarming spell today," Proff. Creevy was saying.
Elizabeth wasn't paying attention. She stared down at the map on her lap, watching as Katherine's footsteps settled near Malfoy's. They stayed like that for a whole eight minutes. Needless to say, Lizzy was freaking out.
Prof. Creevy's lecture continued. "Now, everyone get a partner..."
There was a rush of students hurrying out of their seats to pair up with their friends. Elizabeth sat stunned in her seat. She usually always partnered with Katherine, but her friend was busy at the moment, in the company of Jeremy bloody Malfoy. I have to get out of here. Elizabeth thought. And now was the perfect time to escape.
Making sure the proffessor wasn't looking in her direction, Elizabeth picked up her things and quietly slipped out the door. No one noticed her leaving, as they were all busy finding partners. She would have smirked, but instead focused her attention on the map.
She found Katherine and Malfoy's footprints again and began in the direction of the "abandoned" classroom. Elizabeth eventually found the door and had to resist the strong urge to break it down and attack Malfoy. In fact, the only reason she didn't was because it seemed to her that Katherine was there voluntarily. After all, the girl hadn't come running out of the classroom yet.
Elizabeth tucked the map away and pulled out an Elastic Ear. She grinned. Thank you, "Uncle" George! she thought as she slipped one end of the string under the door. Elizabeth brought the other end up to her ear so she could listen...

Katherine grinned a little uncertainly. "Yeah, I've played tic-tac-toe. Not sure it'll keep us entertained that long, but we can definitely play." Katherine reached into her bag to pull out parchment and saw what faintly resembled one of her uncles' Extendable Ears under the door. What was one of those ears doing hear? Slowly, she stood up and walked silently to the door, pausing breifly before swinging it open to reveal her best friend, Lizzy Potter. Shocked, Katherine's jaw dropped.

Jeremy's stomach felt like it imploded as Elizabeth Potter was found spying on them. He dreaded the possibility of explaining this to his parents, the assumptions people would make, the assumptions SHE would make, being disowned, getting Katherine into trouble. He prayed to himself that Katherine could magically (ooc: haha. bad pun.) fix the situation and save them both. His voice caught in his throat as he just sat there, staring at Elizabeth Potter, the daughter of his father's arch enemy, with a terrified expression.
